Temporal Consistency

How stable a subject's appearance stays from frame to frame in AI-generated video.

Temporal consistency is how stable a generated subject stays from one frame to the next — the same face, the same logo, the same pattern on a shirt — rather than subtly warping or flickering across the clip. It's one of the hardest problems in AI video generation, because most models don't have perfect memory of what they drew in the previous frame.

Poor temporal consistency is usually the tell that a clip was AI-generated: watch for text that shifts, hands that reshape, or backgrounds that swim. Deterministic tools sidestep the problem entirely — GenMotion's frames are computed from an explicit function of time, so the same element renders identically on every frame by construction.
